Bio
Lauren Casey began her ultimate career in 2001, but when you see her with the disc you would think she's been playing for twice that time. She played five years with Superfly, Stanford women's ultimate team, winning national championships three of those years (2003, 2005, and 2006), one as captain of the team (2005). She also picked up an undergrad degree and a master's degree along the way, for good measure.
After playing a couple years on mixed club teams Six Trained Monkeys and Brass Monkey she proved that she was willing to play on team without 'monkey' in its name and joined Fury in 2007. She promptly won a club national championship to add to her college championships. She established herself as a force behind the disc with her crisp inside out forehand breaks, quick first step, and full artillery of throws. She is also an incredible teammate, and her humor and fabulous buddy gifts make her a delight to be around. Her buddy gift for Sprout in 2007 set a new high standard that is widely considered to be unattainable.
This year on Fury she has also been the mastermind behind the workout plans. When she's not playing, working out, planning workouts, or designing top notch buddy gifts, she works as an energy engineer/analyst in San Francisco.
